Looking for the ultimate Summer bucketlist specifically in the beautiful province of Ontario? Well you’ve come to the right place! I have activities for everyone on this list.
*remember to book reservations online prior to attending these activities
River Rafting
River Rafting is an activity that gives me such an adrenaline rush. It’s so much fun and it also shows you a different perspective of the area you’re floating in.
You can go River Rafting at:
- Elora Gorge
- Grand River Rafting Company
- Madawaska Kanu Centre
- RiverRun Rafting
- OWL Rafting
- Ottawa City Rafting

Glass Bottom Boat Tour to Flowerpot Island
This is one of my favourite items on the list! It is quite the adventure jumping on a boat to explore ship wrecks and then hiking Flowerpot Island.
Bruce Anchor Cruises offers this experience and there are a few other options that don’t have the glass bottom. It can get very busy in the Summer – I prefer doing it in Spring or Early Fall to beat the crowds.
Catch a Sunrise
There are so many great places to catch a sunrise. Some of my favourite places are:
- Algonquin Provincial Park
- Lake Ontario
- Killarney Provincial Park
- Heaven’s Gate Ridge
- Chute’s Provincial Park
- Mississagi Provincial Park
- Niagara Falls
- Lake Simcoe

Natural Waterslide
One of my favourite places to visit in Ontario is the High Falls Cheater Trail. A 4km (each way) trail that leads to a natural water park. There’s a waterfall you can slide down and small ledges to cliff jump from. It’s also a great place to swim! Be sure to arrive early as the parking lot is small and fills up fast.
There are no lifeguards here, PFD’s are highly recommended as well as water shoes.

Hike An Iconic Trail
Ontario is huge and has so many trails to check out. Why not visit one of Ontario’s most famous lookouts? Here are some I recommend:
- The Crack, Killarney
- Devils Rock, Lake Temiskaming
- Centennial Ridges, Algonquin
- Top of the Giant, Sleeping Giant
- Lions Head Lookout, Lions Head
- Robertsons Cliffs, Algoma
- Helenbar Lookout, Mississsagi

Chase Waterfalls
Who doesn’t love a good waterfall? They’re also a great way to cool down! Here are some waterfalls I recommend checking out.
- Eau Claire Gorge, Calvin
- Hamilton Waterfall Tour – Sherman Falls, Tiffany Falls, Felkers Falls
- High Falls, Bracebridge
- Devils Punchbowl, Stoney Creek
- Niagara Falls
- Balls Falls, Lincoln
- Beamers Falls, Grimsby
- Inglis Falls, Owen Sound
- Chutes Provincial Park

Stay With the Wolves
This is a really specific and unique activity, but I took my husband here for his birthday a few years ago and we absolutely loved it! This is located at Haliburton Forest, and it’s called the Wolf Centre. You can book a cabin here and visit the wolves!

Whirlpool Jet Boats
I grew up in the Niagara Region and it has endless activities to do, so I always recommend a trip to the region if you’re ever wanting to do something fun. This is an activity I highly suggest if you want some excitement! You will get soaking wet during this experience, you’ve been warned.
Not only is this a super thrilling activity, it also is very beautiful. The views of the Niagara River never get old.

Visit a Suspension Bridge
Suspension bridges? In Ontario? Yep, that’s right! Ontario is even home to Canada’s Longest Suspension bridge.
Some places you will find a suspension bridge:
- Eagle Canyon Adventures, Dorion
- Scenic Caves, Blue Mountains
- Ranney Gorge, Campbellford
- William E. Small Suspension Bridge, French River

Well, looks like you’re going to have a fun filled Summer if you’re spending time here in Ontario!
