Silent Lake Provincial Park ðŸŒ²

Need a little getaway with a variety of activities and sights? I’ve got the park for you!

Silent Lake Provincial Park is located in Bancroft, Ontario. It’s most known for the beautiful lookout over Silent Lake, 19km of hiking trails, and four-season accommodations.

I made a trip here mid-March, and it was lovely to car-camp in! I was sure to take advantage of the snowshoe rentals.

I snowshoed the 3km Bonnie’s Pond Trail. It offers views of a breathtaking lookout and a large beaver pond. This trail took me 1hour to complete (including lots of photo taking).

I was pleasantly surprised by how well this trail is marked, there are even signs letting you know where the cross country skiing trail crosses the snowshoeing trail. Very helpful as this trail has lots of turns and little hills, but so easy to navigate thanks to all the markers.

I stopped and took photos at many different spots, soaking in all the beauty this trail has to offer. This trail has a surprising amount of beautiful views in one little loop. We added on an extra 300m to see the lookout – absolutely worth it and highly recommend!

I am looking forward to doing this trail again once the snow has melted, and I definitely want to come back and tackle the 15km Lakeshore Hiking Trail immediately!

After snowshoeing, I headed to my campsite to get my Jeep ready to sleep in (which I like to do while the sun is still up) and started building a warm campfire. Of course that means s’mores!

We camped at site 104 in the Granite Ridge Campsites. It’s a great size site, and my favourite part is I was able to open the trunk of the Jeep in the morning and have a view of the sun leaking through all the trees.

Definitely the perfect spot for a morning cup of coffee.

There were a couple of yurts around us which looked really cozy as well. I definitely need try staying in a yurt here!
