Must-See Places in Quebec

Quebec is a massive province. It has so much to see from mountains, waterfalls, lakes, wildlife the list goes on!

Here’s a list of things I personally think are “must-see” places that you can add to your bucket list:

Waterfalls

Montmorency Falls | Chute Montmorency

This waterfall is taller than Niagara Falls. It is located close to Quebec City, and is one of the prettiest places I’ve personally experienced in my life.

This waterfall also features a suspension bridge, as well a trails in the surrounding area and stairs that take you to the base of the waterfall. There is also ziplining and climbing you can do here!

I paid to park on site, however there are entrances that don’t require fees.

Rats Waterfall | La Chute aux Rats

This waterfall is located in Mont-Tremblant National Park. The park itself has different sections, and this waterfall is located in the Pimbina section.

This is a 9.5km trail, however you can park right at the waterfall instead of having to hike the whole thing.

There are picnic tables and wooden stairs that take you close to the top of the waterfall.

Carbide Willson Ruins and Falls

This is one of Quebec’s most popular spots, but for good reason. This is such a beautiful and photogenic place.

Located in Gatineau Park, this is an easy out and back trail totalling 4.3km. It’s open year round, and seasonally dogs can also explore here!

Parking is free.

Trails

L’Envol Mount

This is a great hike in Mont-Tremblant National Park. It’s an out and back trail totalling 4.6km, it has rewarding views and is very surprising.

There are 2 marked lookouts, but also make sure you summit for my personal favourite view! (Refer to trail link below)

Le Sentier des Vallées du Petit-Saguenay

This is an out and back trail totalling 3.2km with 4 lookout points. Very beautiful trail and a breathtaking area. The photo you see was taken at sunrise on a rainy day, and it still is breathtaking.

Parking here is free.

The Big Pine

One of my favourite trails I’ve ever hiked, and it isn’t even long or challenging! The views were just magical here.

This trail is located in Grands-Jardins National Park. It’s a 2.1km loop.

Lake-à-l’Empêche Loop

My favourite trail. It’s located in Zec des Martres and is an 8km challenging loop. This trail can get slippery so only do it during dry seasons and make sure you’re wearing sturdy footwear.

Sight-Seeing

Saint Placide de Charlevoix

This bridge was built in 1926. Quebec is known for having beautiful bridges, and this is the only one I’ve seen so far. It was very cute, but I’m excited to see more!

Saint Simeon Lighthouse

The lighthouse was cute, but my favourite part was that from here I was able to see a Minke whale swimming in the St Lawrence river! Worth stopping in just for that reason alone.

Saint-Anne-de-Beaupré

If you are in the area and enjoy architecture, this is a beautiful building to check out!

As you can see, Quebec is quite a beautiful place that has so much to explore. I am already itching to plan another visit back!

Until next time,

Keep on trekkin’.
