What an adventure this one was.
Do you ever have those days where absolutely every plan you make falls through?
There were so many curveballs we had before reaching this trail. We were so relieved when we arrived.

We parked at the Upper Parking Lot and started our hike following the Vista Adventure Trail. This trail is a small (1.5km) loop featuring three lookouts.

After that trail, we completed the Buffalo Crag Trail which is a 3.5km loop that begins with the Nassagaweya Canyon Lookout.

Afterwards, we walked along the Bruce Trail connection and ventured onto some side trails. The colours of the trees were so vibrant, it was such a beautiful walk. This is the easiest hike I have done so far; it’s a very family-friendly place.
Next, we stopped at the caves beside the Upper Parking Lot. The limestone cuts are so beautiful. There’s a staircase that leads you right into the cave and it’s accessible primarily for rock climbers.

Now the name Rattlesnake is very off-putting, however, I have read that there aren’t rattlesnakes in the area. The name origin is believed to be from the snake-like paths.
If you take the Buffalo Crag Trail all the way, you can walk to Crawford Lake Conservation. If you’re looking to get a longer hike kilometre-wise, I suggest doing that. Crawford Lake offers a glacial lake and surrounding boardwalk. There is also a reconstructed village, so great history to lay eyes upon.

Simple hikes don’t often have this many impressive views, so this is a gem.
Thanks for following along with today’s hike. I have some pretty exciting adventures booked for October! Fall hikes are my favourite.
