If you saw my last blog post about going to Algonquin without our toddler, then you may find this one more entertaining since we actually brought her AND our baby for this hike. It was quite the challenge since our daughter just adores picking up every single pebble, stick and pinecone she can possibly carry.

Getting outside with your children is so much fun, even if it is sometimes a little chaotic. I enjoy bringing my littles on adventures – our son (7 months old) likes to sit in the baby carrier and look up at the trees. He is so content on hikes. And our toddler reminds us to enjoy the little things; she is always amazed by the size of rocks, amount of trees and all of the wildlife we see – even if it is just a chipmunk.

This trail has quite a variety of spots to stop and admire. The trail itself has a lot of tree roots, rocks to climb, and a small amount of stairs. It’s a 3.5km loop that features a lookout of Jack Lake. I’d definitely recommend wearing some good hiking footwear for this one, it’s not super challenging, however the elevation changes frequently and all of the tree roots make it more difficult to walk.
This trail took us just over an hour with our two little ones. Afterward, we drove to the Lake of Two Rivers beach area and had some lunch and I explored a little on my own while Brodi kept the kids busy. Every time we go to Algonquin, I never want to leave because I don’t want to miss a single moment of exploring. It just has so much to offer.
This walk isn’t as intense as our last Algonquin trail (track and tower), but it still has some challenges so overall it’s a great workout with beautiful scenery.
Can’t wait to see what the next adventure is!
